Residential Aged Care

We understand that finding an appropriate Residential Aged Care facility for respite or permanent care can be a daunting process. That's why we are here to help you every step of the way and ensure a smooth transition to care. We have established sound working relationships with most residential aged care facilities in Melbourne and are not affiliated with any organisation, thus providing an impartial service.

  • Our process starts with an initial meeting, which can be conducted in person, via phone, or Zoom. During this meeting, we will work with you to determine your requirements and preferences and arrange an ACAS assessment if needed.

  • Based on the assessment, we will discuss the types of aged care facilities available that best meet your individual care needs, location preferences, and budget.

  • We will liaise with the facilities to determine availability and clinical suitability and find out what's important to you, including location, cultural, religious, dietary, and social preferences. We will also consider whether couple accommodation or secure dementia accommodation is required.

  • We will arrange facility tours and accompany you if needed (a fee may be applicable for our presence on tours).

  • We understand that aged care costs can be complex, and we will outline the costs involved in entering a residential aged care facility and explain the options for paying accommodation costs. We can refer you to a financial adviser if required to ensure the best financial outcome. We may also be able to negotiate the RAD and Additional Services Fees on your behalf.

  • We know that completing extensive asset forms and other forms for Centrelink can be challenging, which is why we can assist you in completing them to work out the level of government support and funding you can access.

  • Finally, we understand that some people may need placement interstate, and we can assist in arranging this if required.
